World Book Night

St Georges Day isn't the only celebration today, its also World Book Night. A night dedicated to giving books to people that wouldn't normally read or people who don't have access to books.. It is also a day known for the birth and death of Shakespeare so really an all round big deal in the literature world. A random tidbit for you is that, rumour has it, Spanish gentlemen would celebrate St Georges Day by giving their ladies a rose...n'awww, and the lady would then return the favour by giving them a b...book....yes, sorry to disappoint you gents ;).

So on a day made for sharing your favourite books I am sharing a review of one of my favourite books....

The Mighty Storm
By Samantha Towle

It's been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved.

Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of the biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both fourteen.

Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there’s a complication to their instant feelings for one another—Will, Tru’s boyfriend of two years.

Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse—travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake.

Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

The cover alone should have you drooling down your front! If that doesn't do it then I would consider you see a therapist :P

Yes it does get even better.....

I came across this book in the kindle store and I couldn't put it down. After having finished I couldn't stop thinking about the bloody thing!

A passionate and heated story of a couple forced apart by fate and then flung back together years later, when they least expect it. The connection is instant between Tru and Jake because of their history together. Alot of ladies out there can easily identify with the storyline, minus the jet set lifestyle of rock and roll...I know right...booo!

So we see the usual pickle of a lucky...or not so lucky, whichever way you look at it :P, girl having to choose between two guys.....her current boyfriend and a pool forming rock God that just happened to be her 'normal' best friend back when they were just to shy to say "I want you baby".....The decision of course is easy but that doesn't make it okay ladies, sorry! That is exactly what we are dealing with in the story, the problematic decisions of following our hearts and probably fate or 'doing the right thing'.

The emotions are so real, I always felt like I was right there talking to Jake, to the point that I could see him singing 'Wicked Game' right in front of my eyes. I already loved the song but now I have more reason to listen to it.

The characters are brilliant. Story is fantastic. This book is hot, gritty, emotional, raw, hot and did I mention hot....

To then finish the book and realise that there is indeed to be a second instalment had me literally jumping up and down
I highly recommend this so go read it now!!

Overall....Fan-bloody-tastic....

Wethering the Storm is out 20 August....save the date!
